EfficientSugiyama works on Vista, not Win XP?

I have a command that cycles through several layout algorithms. The weird thing is this works great under Vista, but the EfficientSugiyama layout does nothing under Win XP. I also default to EfficientSugiyama, and under Vista the graph initializes correctly as new vertices are added, but under Win XP some of the vertices are stacked on top of each other.

    // Layout algorithms
    private const string ES = "EfficientSugiyama";
    private const string BFR = "BoundedFR";
    private const string CIR = "Circular";
    private const string LL = "LinLog";
      if (_vm.DiagramLayout.LayoutAlgorithmType == ES)
        _vm.DiagramLayout.LayoutAlgorithmType = BFR;
      else if (_vm.DiagramLayout.LayoutAlgorithmType == BFR)
        _vm.DiagramLayout.LayoutAlgorithmType = CIR;
      else if (_vm.DiagramLayout.LayoutAlgorithmType == CIR)
        _vm.DiagramLayout.LayoutAlgorithmType = LL;
      else if (_vm.DiagramLayout.LayoutAlgorithmType == LL)
        _vm.DiagramLayout.LayoutAlgorithmType = ES;
Any ideas?
