Help for a newbie

May 17, 2011 at 8:01 PM

This tool looks really cool. I have watched the youtube videos and have been reading through the discussions, but the light hasn't gone on. I have been able to get the basic samples working but anything more complex is lost on me so far.

All I want to do at this point is to create a simple graph with nodes that have borders and text. If I get the borders to work, I lose the text in the node. At some point I will want to creatre different shapes depending on node properties, but that is another battle for another day.

I have a lot of .NET experience, but I guess I haven't had enough coffee yet. Can someone please point me to relevant discussions, docs, or code snippets that will help me get going?

BTW... I am doing all of this is a WPF Browser app.

Thanks

John

Your problem is not a GraphSharp problem, it's basically a WPF problem.

You need to get some WPF experience. Search these keywords: 'WPF datatemplate', 'WPF controltemplate'

Create a new controltemplate for the VertexControl, or create a new DataTemplate for your vertex type.

Thanks. I will do that.

Thanks again for a well-timed kick in the a$$ to do my homework. Things are looking better.

I will no doubt be back for more info, but I am up and running now!
